Eduard Brassin Cockpit Set for the Eduard MiG-21MF Fighter Bomber -- 1:72 Scale

vol_2_image

Eduard’s new tool MiG-21MF in 1:72 scale is an excellent kit – one of our favorite new kits of this year so far, and by far, it’s the best 1:72 scale Fishbed that’s out there.  Their MiG-21MF Interceptor kit has now been joined by a ProfiPACK edition of the MF fighter bomber (HERE).  Eduard has also produced a range of Brassin sets for their MiG-21MFs.  Here, we take a look their cockpit set for this kit.

The kit cockpit is not all that bad, especially for 1:72 scale.  But certainly, you can add a significantly eye-watering detail using resin, photoetched metal, and clear acetate parts.  This set features 10 beautifully cast resin parts, 33 photoetched (PE) metal parts (most are pre-painted) on a single fret, and a small piece of printed acetate used to simulate the gun sight/HUD glass.

The complete cast resin cockpit tub is designed as a direct replacement for the kit cockpit, and as such, it is designed to drop right into the Eduard kit without any modification or alteration of the plastic.  The resin parts will strike you as small – and filled with really gorgeous detail particularly on the ejection seat, instrument panel coaming, cockpit sidewalls, and rear bulkhead.  The quilting on the KM-1 ejection seat backpad is particularly eye-catching.

There are also parts for the instrument panel, stick, and separate ejection seat headrest.  The PE parts are also quite impressively manufactured and demonstrate an equally high level of detail, from the precision-painted instrument dial faces to the arrays of switches, knobs, and other details.  Most importantly (for my preferences, at least), there’s a really nice set of shoulder harnesses and lap belts that will appear quite realistic.

This Brassin detail set will provide an awesome cockpit for your Eduard 1:72 scale MiG-21MF fighter bomber kit.  It will elevate your build in very distinctive ways.  Also keep in mind there are several other Brassin sets for this kit, too, including external stores, speed brakes and more.

We extend our sincere thanks to Eduard for the review sample.  You can visit them on the web at http://www.eduard.com and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/EduardCompany/
